Orientation

Welcome to the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).  We look forward to welcoming you in person to campus and working with you during your time at UTEP.

If you are coming from out of town, please plan to arrive in El Paso, Texas, at least one week before the start date on your DS-2019
. It is generally better to arrive earlier so that you can get settled and rested before beginning your Exchange activities, and so you can participate in Orientation.  You are allowed to enter the country on your  visa up to 30 days prior to the report date on your DS-2019. Once you enter the country, you have 15 days to report to our office. So, come see us first thing. We want to get to know you.

All Exchange Visitors are required to attend an Orientation.  They are regularly scheduled for the Thursday and Friday before classes begin, in Fall and Spring.  If you will arrive at a different time, please make an appointment with a Responsible Officer in the Office of International Programs, to give you an individual orientation.

This orientation has been designed to offer you information about academic, social and cultural opportunities, and to provide support in making the transition to UTEP and the El Paso/Juarez community.  You will also learn about maintaining your legal immigration status, and the services available to you here at UTEP.

The Office of International Programs is here to serve you, and we encourage all new students to become familiar with our services and join in our programs.  We look forward to meeting you.

If you have any questions prior to your arrival, please contact us.
