EXTENDED TIME ON COURSEWORK    

 

Ø      A student may be eligible for this accommodation if he/she has a substantial limitation:

 

  • in visual acuity 
  •  in reading comprehension
  • with manual dexterity
  • or has a disability that produces frequent or severe flare ups or exacerbations
  • or has severe side effects to medication(s)

 

Ø      The student should request this accommodation well in advance of coursework deadlines from DSSO and speak with the professor to make arrangements for flexibility of deadlines

   
ACCOMMODATION IS UNREASONABLE WHEN IT    

Ø       Fundamentally alter the nature of the training program
Ø      
Compromise the essential elements of the program
Ø       Cause an undue financial or administrative burden
Ø       Endanger the safety of self or others

Academic and performance requirements that are essential to programs of instruction or to any directly related licensing requirements are not regarded as discriminatory

Be able to meet the technical and academic qualifications for entry into the school, program or activity in order to be considered otherwise qualified
