Eligibility For Service Minimize    

A student may be eligible for this accommodation if he/she has a substantial limitation in:

§         Arm/hand function

§         Visual acuity (less than 20/200)

§         Writing ability (more than 1 standard deviation below the mean in academic area)

§         Visual-motor or visual-perceptual ability

§         Other conditions where DSSO determines accommodation is reasonable and appropriate

§         Type of accommodation is determined by degree of barrier and/or limitation

   
Adaptive Technology/Auxiliary Aides to Record Answers to Exam/Quiz Minimize    

Calculator—To use a calculator on an exam/quiz

 

Talking calculator—Reads math operations entered into calculator aloud

 

Spell check—To use a spell check on exam/quiz

 

Word Processor—To use a word processor to record answers to an exam/quiz

 

Word Processor with spell check –To use a word processor with spell check to record answers to an exam/quiz

 

Voice Recognition software—To use voice recognition software to record answers to an exam/quiz 

 

Record answers to essay exams/quizzes via cassette

 

Scribe—The assistance of a DSSO staff member to record answers to an exam/quiz

 

§         Scribe does not provide explanation or assistance to questions 

§         All questions about exam/quiz must be referred to professor

 

Any other accommodation DSSO determines to be reasonable and appropriate
