Alternative Format Minimize    
A student may be eligible for this accommodation if he/she has a substantial limitation in:

§         Visual acuity (less than 20/100)

§         Learning disability (more than 1.5 standard deviations in academic area or processing ability)

§         Other conditions where DSSO determines accommodation is reasonable and appropriate

   
Examples of Alternative Format Minimize    

 

  • Enlarge exam­—An exam/quiz or class materials that are converted to large print

§         Exam in Braille— An exam/quiz or class materials that are converted Braille

§         Exam on audio cassette— An exam/quiz needs to be converted into audio cassette

§         Record answer on exams— Answers on an exam/quiz are recorded via cassette in lieu of scantron

§         Oral exam— An exam/quiz is administered orally by professor
 Scratch paper--Scratch paper on an exam/quiz is available to student

§          Dictionary—To use dictionary to assist with vocabulary meaning

  • Quiet location with minimal distractions--a student may be eligible for this accommodations if he/she has a substantial limitation in:

 

ü       Ability to focus and concentrate
