Eligibility to Use an Auxiliary Aide    

A student may be eligible to use an auxiliary aide if he/she has a substantial limitation in the ability to:

 

·    Access spoken and/or text information

·    Use physical dexterity to access computer, keyboard and/or campus equipment

·    Other conditions DSSO determines to be reasonable and appropriate


Type of auxiliary aide student is eligible to use is determined by barrier and/or limitation

Used to enlarge materials used in classroom and/or during exams/quizzes at DSSO. 
Spell Check - Wednesday, June 15, 2005
Used to check spelling during writing assignments in class or during essay exams/quizzes at DSSO. 
Calculator - Wednesday, June 15, 2005
Can be used to perform basic math operations during an exam/quiz at DSSO. 
Word Processor - Wednesday, June 15, 2005
Used to record in class assigments and/or answers during exams/quizzes at DSSO. 
Talking Calculator - Wednesday, June 15, 2005
Can be use to provide operations entered into calculator in audio format (basic and scientific calculator). Available at DSSO during an exam/quiz. 
Tape Recorder - Wednesday, June 15, 2005
Can be sed to record class lecture. Students are responsible for providing this equipment.
