A student may qualify for note taking services because he/she has a substantial limitation:

• Hearing lecture
• Listening and copying down lecture notes at the same time
• Writing lecture notes
• Seeing information presented in classroom
• Other conditions where DSSO determines accommodation is reasonable and appropriate

Note Taker—copy of lecture notes provided by classmates who volunteers who is compensated at $100.00 per semester per class

Copy of professor’s notes/transparencies—copy of professor’s notes/transparencies when available

Use of a tape recorder--to record class lecture (student provides this equipment)

Use of laptop--to record lecture notes (student provides this equipment)

Use of Braille-n-speak--to record lecture notes (student provides this equipment)

Use of non-carbonized paper (NCR)—Non-carbonized paper provided by DSSO for classmate to record lecture notes (classmate is not compensated with $100.00 stipend)
