Fellow UTEP students,
I hope that this letter finds you all in good health and that you are doing well in all your endeavors.
I would like to start off by telling you that I am honored and humbled to serve as your 2009-2010 Student Government Association President.
The SGA has a long time tradition of work, commitment and accountability; and we are heirs to that tradition. As I look back to past administrations, I see only good and positive things because success is an everlasting journey; one with many roads, with many bumps along the way and with tough decisions to be made. It is our duty to honor this journey and fulfill our part of the agreement, so that the future can be brighter and the opportunities grander.
The 2008-2009 administration has allowed us to reconnect with our fellow students and regain their trust, and we plan on furthering that path, which promotes challenge, hard work and resilience, and a sense that opportunities are out there waiting for us and that we shall embrace them.
I commit to no less this year. SGA’s structure is more prosperous than it was in the past, and is geared not only to undertake short term, but also mid term and long-term projects. This will allow us to take on bigger and better opportunities to further the student voice and to engage the student population in the decision making process that takes place at UTEP.
It is our hope that thru this hard work and commitment, we will be able to give you more and better opportunities to become involved on campus, to be active in student life and develop not only as a professional, but also as an individual and as a MINER.
This year we have many projects in the pipeline and we want you to become part of them. I invite you to further our labor and to collaborate with us in this wonderful journey without distinction, without empty promises, through good communication, openness and respect.
And remember, GO MINERS!!!
Sincerely,
Alex Muñoz
